About the epda
The european packaging design association provides opportunities for European designers to meet and interact.
The epda was formed in 1990, when a number of Europe's leading designers identified a deeply-felt need for a new, European forum. They wanted to share information, ideas and opinions - however controversial - about packaging, identity, literature, point-of-purchase, electronic media. They wanted to meet other design professionals, not as competitors, but as colleagues and friends. And it worked. From that simple concept, the epda has grown steadily into the pan-European force for design that it is today.

Red Dot Award: Communication Design
The jury has met!
The Red Dot Packaging Design Jury was represented by epda members: Jennifer Tsai, Cyriac Porte and Uwe Melichar. 7,451 entries had been submitted to 17 categories and 568 red dots were given to the most innovative and best designed campaigns and designs. The award ceremony will take place on 6 November, the day of epda's Meet&Greet equally taking place in Berlin. So profit from two in one! We are curious to reveal who this year's winners are!

Congress in Toulouse: Great Success
A couple of days ago a bunch of designers from all over Europe, representatives of Pierre Fabre as well as of epda partners Stora Enso, Sleever International and Siegwerk Druckfarben met at "Les Cauquillous" - headquarters of Pierre Fabre in Toulouse. An event full of insights, interaction and fun thanks to excellent speakers and workshop moderations and a great atmosphere and environment!

Red Dot Exhibition 2015

For the fifth time Schaffner & Conzelmann Designersfactory - in cooperation with Schule für Gestaltung Basel and Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW - organises a trend show of about 100 design projects from 49 countries - awarded with a Red Dot: Best of the Best or a Red Dot: Grand Prix.

epda Congress
epda's next congress will be held in Toulouse, in cooperation with Pierre Fabre pharmaceuticals. The conference will highlight main influential factors on the consumer of tomorrow. One key issue certainly is demographic change. What is required when it comes to packaging design for elderly people, especially with regards to its functionality and colours. Presentations as well as hands-on workshops with brand owner, industry partners and designers will initiate discussion and prepare for epda's DIY 2015 to be launched with the congress.

THE DIELINE SUMMIT
The first European edition
We are pleased to announce that epda endorses the first Dieline packgaging design networking event during the Emballage trade show in Paris on November, 16-17.
